Bio:

Imani Miles (she/her) was born & raised in Nashville and has been teaching music to youth since the age of 12 years old. She offers lessons in Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Voice & Music Technology from her home studio, at Rocketown, student’s homes, or virtual online lessons. She focuses on music basics, comprehension and finding your own unique music style!

Ms. Imani was musically trained in Nashville’s many art schools and organizations, including Nashville School of the Arts. She is currently a Board Member and music teacher at Girls Write Nashville, a non-profit providing music & music production to middle school & high school girls throughout Middle Tennessee. She has been involved in many organizations focused on empowering others through music education, integration and inclusivity, including summer programming coordinator for teens at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Frist Art Museum, and participant in Youth Empowerment Through the Arts & Humanities’ Southern Girls Rock’n’Roll Camp, Nashville Public Library’s Studio NPL music production program, and more.

As an artist & performer, Imani is known as Amira the Weirdo. She has shared the stage with well-known artists such as Margo Price & Brittany Howard (of the Alabama Shakes) and has worked with Grammy-award winning producers and writers. Imani writes and produces much of her original music at home and wishes to share her knowledge of music with others, especially beginners ages 4 to 18. She’s very happy to share her talents to build up other superstars and to be a part of the Melodia Studio family!
