After college, she moved to Athens, GA and thrived in the vibrant music community there, starting a piano teaching studio, touring internationally as a pianist/keys player for bands such as Of Montreal, Cracker, Camper Van-Beethoven, and many more, as well as with her own band where she composes, sings, and plays guitar. She has taught students from ages 4-72 in various styles including classical, competition prep, music theory, rock, pop, country, and more. She has also loved working with students at summer music camps and after school programs for over 15 years. Now a full time resident of Nashville, Thayer is so excited to join Melodia Studio!

“I am thankful to have a diverse background, and I love to tailor lessons to what each student is excited about. I want music to be open and fun while teaching the fundamentals that enable freedom for expression, and a lifelong ability to grow and enjoy music even more!”
